The
Martha Washington Inn features three restaurants
for a variety of culinary tastes. Each of these establishments
has its own distinct atmosphere, but all offer excellent cuisine
served in the casually elegant surroundings and with the true Southern
hospitality for which The Martha is famous.
The Dining Room
Many a weary traveler has found our Dining Room to be the
perfect oasis for food and drink. The Dining Room offers visitors
the elegance of an upscale dining atmosphere common to larger
metropolitan areas, while still enveloping guests in the small town
charm of Abingdon and the Virginia Highlands. A Dining Room standard
that have become a local favorite is The Martha’s exquisite Sunday
Brunch. The dining room serves breakfast and dinner daily, and lunch
is served Wednesday through Saturday during season. A
menu link is provided, but keep in mind that the menu changes
seasonally. Black tie is not required. Rather, dressy casual is the
perfect choice, and reservations are highly recommended.
Martha’s
Gourmet Market
Cozy
and comfortable are words that spring to mind when dining in this
unique café. Martha’s Gourmet Market, a local favorite
for casual lunch fare, is just that -- cozy and comfortable. Warm
lighting from the fireplaces and displays of local art set the mood
as visitors enjoy a delicious lunch. Lunch fare consists of fresh
salads and unique sandwiches prepared right in front of you with
homemade ingredients to which even the first lady would be proud
to lend her name. The market is also the ideal place to pick up
a keepsake or gift for that special someone. Choices range from
homemade jams and jellies to locally made Amish toys and goodies.
The
Presidents Club
As a guest of The Martha Washington, visitors can enjoy entrance
into the private club for which locals must pay monthly. The Presidents
Club serves cocktails and food from Wednesday through Saturday and
is the perfect atmosphere for intimate conversation. Once a month
the Presidents Club throws a themed reception for members and guests.
